Meeting point is Starbucks with wheels up at 9.30 with an hour long drive through Crabapple, Milton and Forsyth, turning right at the Coca Cola sign. Parking is in the municipal lot just under the pedestrian bridge on Castleberry Rd. On the fairgrounds we will see a cotton gin powered by a huge two cylinder Fairbanks Morse two cycle diesel engine that is started with blow torches and compressed air. There will be a sawmill powered by a steam tractor, then we will see all manner of steam powered tractors followed by later classic gasoline and diesel tractors. Several exhibitors show of their make and break engines that were in the day used to power many implements. Also on display will be my favorite Maytag washing machine engines, single and twin cylinder engines that ran without a carburetor. How is that possible you ask, come along and find out.
